Chelti Winery

Chelti Winery

An ambitious producer located in the village of Shilda not far from Kvareli in Kakheti. The objective of the estate is to make wines of remarkable quality with millennial traditions. Their wines have received numerous accolades, have been served at a British royal wedding or offered to Xi Jinping.
The winery began to plant its own vineyards in 2005 and the foundations laid for the construction of the building was completed in 2006. The domain's astonishing characteristic is its wine cellar located 7 meters deep underground. Wine cellar temperature does not exceed 12-16 degrees throughout the year which is ideal for wine storage.
Chelti is situated in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains overlooking the fertile Alazani River Valley, which is famous for its history of wine production and its suitable climate for growing several unique indigenous grape varieties. The soil composition in the Shilda Village area varies per variety: the Chelti grapes are harvested from sandy-gravel soil, while the Gunashauri grapes come from clay-loam soil.
We are happy to propose you their most famous and awarded wine: Chelti of Qvevri.
